Peoria, IL

Another long day at Peoria was what awaited me yesterday. Last year was my first year at Peoria and I struggled a little bit. I am typically a good TTer and growing up I have always worked on my speed on TT's as much as I could because I know that's part of dirttrack racing.

I couldn't come to terms with the track and my lines were just plain off. Peoria has a big jump you hit pretty fast on the back straight-away and im not going to say i'm horrible over it, but I definitely need to work on my speed through that section in the future. I qualified 41st overall, but I picked up some speed as the day went on. 41st is not acceptable at all. I ended up starting on the 3rd row in my heat race and not getting a good start and ended up 13th. My mechanic Rich was making changes all day and the bike started to work alot better and I still wasn't making up a ton of time. I knew I needed to ride harder and really focus on what I needed to do. In the semi, there was like 16 guys or so. I got a descent start, made alot of passes and ended up 9th, gaining on the riders in front of me. To say, it was a disappointing day is an understatement, but I feel we made alot of ground from the start of the day. We haven't score points in any 4 of the singles nationals this year and that's frustrating because we have 3 top 5's and a podium in the 450 hot shoe series.

There wasn't much more to report. Peoria bit me in the tail again. I just got to keep coming back and working on turning the struggles around at this track. I am ready to finish out this season strong and continue to climb higher in the standings.
